    Oh Carrissa, if you want easy to use black versions of the clear angled spacers that you primered that terracotta color then painted black, then I used vacuum hose tube for my saber. 👍 You can cut it to whatever size you want for a black "vent" section near the emmiter with no painting required. It fits perfectly over 1 and 1/4 inch sink tube. I just cut 1 and 1/2 inch sink tube to go around it with a cut angled emmiter end for my saber.

    If someone wants to 3D print greeblies but is still learning to 3D model, McMaster-Carr has tons of 3D STEP files. There is some pretty good stuff there. It is also a good source for skilled 3D modelers. Maybe you have mentioned this in a previous video? Great video! It's always fun to watch someone's creative process.

      @@TheSmugglersRoom I just found your channel a day or two ago. The first video I saw was the one where you put resin in packages to make cool shapes for props (which was super cool). My concern is making props that kind of look the same. If everyone uses modded Nerf guns, all low budget scifi will have the same blasters. But, you could turn the same object (a box or screen or whatever) and turn it into different styles (Alien, Star Trek, Star Wars, whatever). Better yet, use similar materials, tools, and techniques to show that you can put in the effort to make it look more unique to a specific theme. TL;DR You should fo a video where you turn the same object into a prop from three different cinematic universes. (If you already did this, I'd love to watch the video.)

  • @RyanP57
    @RyanP57 12 дней назад

    Great video as always! How much space do you devote to greeblie storage? That tends to be one of my bigger blockers from getting into full scale stuff more often, I just don't have the space to store a bunch of greeblies. I'd love to see a follow-up shop tour/storage video sometime for some inspiration. 🙂

    What’s clear is that you don’t understand the term greeblies. You don’t make them or extract them from household objects. Greeblies are solely the constituent parts of commercial model making kits, commonly of the styrene variety. That’s it. Like so many you’re bastardising and dumbing down the definition.

    • @TheSmugglersRoom
      @TheSmugglersRoom 13 дней назад

      Wow!! Aren’t you a pleasant person. Thank goodness you are hear to correct us. I suppose what we should do is take down this video and all the others that reference Greeblies so incredibly incorrectly. Or maybe you should invest a bit of time researching a bit more the history behind the term, and what George Lucas intended by it. Or maybe more importantly take some time to self reflect on why you felt it necessary to be rude and attack someone who is simply sharing something fun with a community of people that are here for the enjoyment of our hobby. Hope you have a better day and find something that brings you joy.

    I get what you're trying to do, but IMHO, you go way too overboard with trying to stuff a 'greeblie' in every visual section of a display. Looking at the majority of walls in SW, there is typically a simple panel, maybe two -- but when you see the panel, it isn't stuffed with 83 pieces of random bits and bobs. It has a lot of blank space, a couple of buttons, maybe a droid socket, and a couple of static lights.

    • @TheSmugglersRoom
      @TheSmugglersRoom 14 дней назад

      Not in every case; clean surfaces that you see in the death star or star destroyers. Certainly have a lot of subtle blank surfaces with minimal texture, however ships like the Millennium Falcon are packed full in just about every corner. You can also see dense displays of parts and texture in scenes from Cloud City in Empire Strikes Back. I don’t believe there is a minimal or maximum amount of detail that you have to stick to. At the end of the day build details the way you want to see them, as long as it helps tell the story you are aiming for.
